When one door closes another opens...

I was sad to hear they closed my local Indian joint but they replaced it with a new one with a new concept and so far the change is good. I have only tried it once but what I had was even better than before. It is now called Spice 5 and it is in Chino Hills. They have a great lunch buffet which I got a taste of while I waited for my to-go order. They say the buffet menu changes all the time and it has plenty of options. I ordered my favorite Chicken Vindaloo and my daughter had the Chicken Tikka Masala. The Vindaloo is one of their spicier dishes made with chicken and potatoes in a dark red curry sauce. Its seasoned with cumin, turmeric, anise, cayenne, cardamom and so much more. The Masala is much sweeter and milder and is a light salmon color. Both of them are served over light and fluffy basmati rice. The dessert I tried was something I had never had at the other Indian restaurants I've tried. Its called Gajar ka Halwa and it means sweet carrot. They also added a fresh fruit punch made with coconut and pineapple.
